Twitter Is Following The Way Of Facebook… What Twitter Is Going To Update??

This experiment is the part
of CEO Jack Dorsey’s promise of great changes to Twitter to help improve
its slow growth.
Now, Twitter is planning about sorting your timeline. And that’s why it
is experimenting with a Facebook-type way. Through this way the tweets are
sorted by relevance and not in the reverse chronological order as it happens
now. According to the reports, Twitter is now
working with the algorithms similar to the Facebook uses to order items on the
news feed.
A company spokeswoman was quoted as saying that,”we are experimenting
and continuing to explore ways to surface the best content for Twitter users”. The
Twitter has been hinting towards the algorithmic-driven news feed for more than
one year.
Recently, Dorsey
said that, “You will see us continue to question our reverse chronological
timeline, and all the work it takes to build one by finding and following
accounts,”. And further, he added that, “In order to make the product more
accessible and easier to more people, we continue to show a questioning of our
fundamentals.”

Since Twitter began 9 years ago and also has made sense
for an RTS (real-time service), the reverse chronological timeline has been its
fundamental. Although, the format has its merits, but it also causes users
to miss attractive content while they are away. And scrolling back through
the timeline can be difficult for new users searching for the relevant content.
