Now Google will provide Wi-Fi service at 500 railway stations in India

According to the reports, after the registration and mobile number verification, this facility will be free of the charge to the users. Through SMS, one-time password would be sent to customers. After that, the registered users would able to enjoy free internet service. 

 

San Hose: Internet company Google has a tie-up with Indian Railways and committed to provide Wi-Fi services at 500 stations, next year. The Prime Minister made this announcement during a visit to the headquarters of Google.

In Google campus, the company shown latest products to PM and introduced him with research works, conducted by the company.

He encouraged Google to develop such apps, which are beneficial to the common people. The Prime Minister said in a brief address to Google employees that Indian Railways and Google will tie-up to provide WiFi at 500 railway stations in the country.

Earlier, the Indian-born CEO of Google, said the company initially will provide high-speed Internet services at 100 railway stations of India. And by the end of next year, this service will be provided at rest 400 stations.

 

Further, Railtel which assures Pan India Optic fiber network would cover almost 70 per cent of India’s population through railway tracks. Using satellite communication technology, Indian railway offers Wi-Fi connectivity to some trains in selected routes.
